Datuk Sued for Not Paying Rent for 8 Months, Landlord Suffers Big Loss
A Datuk has attracted attention after reportedly failing to pay rent for almost eight months, forcing the landlord to bear the burden of a bank loan amounting to nearly RM10,000 per month.
According to reports, the Datuk frequently provided various excuses to avoid payment, despite the landlord giving multiple chances. Frustrated with his behavior, the landlord eventually requested the Datuk to vacate the luxury home.
It was initially intended for the landlord to sell the property to the Datuk, but negotiations failed after the Datuk failed to pay the rent and installments as promised.
Even after being given additional time, the landlord stated they were tired of hearing excuse after excuse.
In a TikTok post by Farez Adnan, he explained that his foster mother had to sell her gold and use her savings to cover the home payment due to the overdue rent.
Farez also claimed that the million-dollar property was becoming increasingly neglected and damaged due to the delay in payments. He emphasized that it would be better for the Datuk to vacate the property so a new tenant or buyer could be found.
“The longer it goes unpaid, the higher the debt burden to the bank,” he said. The decision to make this issue public came after multiple unsuccessful negotiations and no resolution was reached.
